Area - Map
Halepa is a beautiful, quiet and historical suburb of Chania. During the Cretan Democracy, this suburb was the home of many wealthy merchants and politicians, so it became the center of the diplomatic activities in Crete.
The Greek Embassy, the old French Academy, the "Palace" of Prince George and his private picturesque Russian-style Saint Magdaline church, the house of Venizelos (one of the most successful statesmen in Greek modern history), are a few of the historic buildings located in this area. Many important decisions and events marked this area of Chania.
Halepa Hotel is located on El. Venizelou Street, No. 164. The street begins from the Center (Central Market) eastwards and is approximately 1,500 meters away. It is located 50 meters from the sea (500 meters, beach) which is easily accessible by foot. The city Center is about a 15-minute walk and is served with frequent city transportation.
